TO OUR VISITORS
If you are a UK taxpayer, we should be grateful if you would consider agreeing to Gift Aid on your admission. You can do this by making a small additional donation that is at least 10% more than the standard entry charge. We can then claim back 28p in the pound on the total amount paid. For example, for every adult Gift Aiding their admission, we can reclaim tax of 56p. Since we receive no regular funding from any outside source, a Gift Aid donation can make a real difference to us. If you can help us in this way, please complete and sign a declaration slip and return it to the staff at the desk when you enter the Museum; for e.g. family groups (e.g. husband and wife) at the same address only one declaration slip is necessary.
The Museum can get in the region of 4,000 visitors a year, and although not all will be eligible for Gift Aid, this will make a big difference.
Gift Aid on admission was made available from the start of the 2009 season, raising approximately an additional £800 per year.
Gift Aid may be available also on season tickets, and on ordinary donations left in the Museum: please ask the staff.
The current year's charges are noted on the Opening page.
