'Sumer is icumen in'
The Seeds of Time early music group perform vocal and dance music, in costume on copies of period instruments

The programme will include madrigals and renaissance music. The group will play all eight members of the recorder family, as well as crumhorns, sackbuts, hurdy-gurdy and other melody and percusson instruments.

Sat 20-Aug-2011 Shoe Making Demonstration by Daniel Nelson: (supplementary event in addition to the published programme): visitors will be able to watch a shoemaking demonstration by Daniel Nelson. Daniel is the fifth generation to run the family business established in Settle in 1847

The Big Draw (The Campaign for Drawing)
National annual event led by local artist Sam Dalby

What Makes a House into a Home?

Come along to this free event in The Folly, Settle on Sunday, 30th October between 1 and 4 pm and let your imagination get to work! As part of the national 'Big Draw' campaign, local artist Sam Dalby will be helping visitors to create their perfect room. Sam says, 'I will be asking people to fill in the details of their ideal room in part of a large empty house, for example with posters, ornaments, toys, pets, family members etc. We want people to be as creative as they like and no drawing experience is necessary'. All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied.

Saturday, 26 November, from 1 - 4 pm, come and meet all your friends in The Folly and make some really great Christmas decorations, including stockings to hang up for Santa! At around 3.30 pm, Giggleswick Junior School choir will join us to sing seasonal music and get everyone feeling really festive. Children must be accompanied please.

Rejoice and be Merry!

Members of Leeds Waits will be providing some seasonal entertainment in The Folly from 10 am to 12 noon on Saturday, 10 December. Wearing period costume, they will play a selection of instruments and there will be the chance for everyone to join in with carol singing. Mulled wine and mince pies alongside a roaring log fire will add to the true Christmas spirit!
