North Craven Building Preservation Trust (NCBPT), formed in 1976, is a registered charity (No. 505438) and limited company (No. 01265072) which seeks to rescue, repair and restore buildings of architectural and historical importance which are at risk in North Craven and to acquire collections and promote activities in pursuit of this objective. Over the past 35 years, it has restored seven properties in the Settle Conservation Area. It has been a long-standing ambition to acquire the whole of The Folly, Settle's only Grade I Listed Building, and to restore it and give it a proper function in the life of the community. The Folly now houses the Museum of North Craven Life, an Accredited Museum owned by the Trust, and is being developed as a major cultural and community centre for the region. For further information about the Trust, please contact the Curator, tel: 01729 822854.
